A former 6th grade school teacher, Sarah always knew that her true calling was in the world of beauty. Initially, she worked on a freelance basis in Orange County, doing both hair and makeup for local fashion houses-but it wasn’t long before her talent landed her a chair at one of L.A.’s former premier salons, Neil George in Beverly Hills. Always one to stay ahead of the game, Sarah joined the Meche team day one of its opening, well-versed in various color techniques ranging from balayage to foil highlighting to best accommodate her clients’ specific needs. Sarah is an expert when it comes to creating beautiful, natural-looking hair color. She’s also highly sought-after for her speciality in custom colored, taped and hand-sewn weft hair extensions, taking pride in maintaining the integrity of her clients’ hair with these two most gentle methods. Along with hip street culture from the 1960s through the 1990s and beyond, Sarah counts famed editorial stylist Eric Gabriel as a source of inspiration, having worked under him on multiple shoots, but her passions-music, art, fashion, film, to name a few -are what truly inspire the style and creativity she’s become known for. The master mind behind ON COLOUR GROUND (sarahconnerstylist.tumblr.com), Sarah’s work and commentary has been featured in several magazines, including Italian Cosmopolitan, Elle Girl Japan, 944, Behind the Chair, and Nylon. She’s styled for a variety of award shows/red carpet events including the Oscars, Grammys, and the ESPYS. Her color work has been seen on TV shows such as HBO’s Hung, multiple Nickelodeon shows, the CW’s Beverly Hills 90210, Master Chef, ABC’S Mistresses, and ET Entertainment Tonight. Her clientele encompasses savvy clients not only in Los Angeles, but in New York City as well.
